We ♥️ Scotland

As the World Cup soldiers on, (and as I write this England is playing Panama in the background,) it will do so without the Tartan Army. The kilted brethren (aka supporters of Scotland's national football team) charmed Boston, Providence and beyond, while supporting their team against Haiti, Morocco and Brazil. From Gillette Stadium to Fenway Park to downtown Providence and nearly every bar in between, the Scots' intoxicating mix of good cheer, bag pipes, chants, marches, $10k donation to Providence's Children's Hospital and general awesomeness made even the stodgiest of New Englanders wish Scotland's World Cup run would never end.

From Paris, I was hearing stories of the Tartan Army's early morning bagpipe solos, Fenway take over and late-night bar sessions that were reeling in local recruits daily. And I wasn't surprised at all. Scotland and its people are special. Scotland leaves an impression that lasts; its a feeling you can't quite wrap your head around, but you know you don't want it to fade away.

I'd try to explain it but just go and experience it for yourself.

To our Scottish friends, I'm dedicating this to you and your beautiful country. Thanks for just being yourselves and bringing the best out of us while you were here!
