The Cashmere Journey at Palazzo Seneca
There's a version of Italy that isn't in the guidebooks — the one where wine, wool, and la dolce vita all live on the same itinerary. This experience, born from our friendship with Villa Spalletti Trivelli in Rome, takes travelers on exactly that kind of journey while based at Palazzo Seneca in the heart of Umbria — two of Italy's most storied regions, connected by craftsmanship and an unhurried pace.
The day begins in Rome, with a private shopping experience along Via Veneto — a personal stylist at your side to reveal the secrets of artisanal cashmere made in Umbria. From there, it's on to the organic farm Pomario for a wine-tasting lunch, followed by a guided visit to Bevagna, a village where textile tradition runs generations deep, and a tour through a real Italian artisanal cashmere factory with a local expert leading the way. By evening, Palazzo Seneca — the only Relais & Châteaux hotel in Umbria, with its own Michelin-starred restaurant — is ready to welcome you home.
