Stelle di oggi e di domani — Teatro alla Scala, Milan

There are rooms that carry their own weight the moment you walk in, and La Scala is one of them. Once a year, the theater gives an evening over to Fondazione Francesca Rava — the Italian arm of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, which cares for children in crisis in Italy, Haiti, and across Latin America.

This year the stage belongs to Stelle di oggi e di domani: students of the Scala Ballet Academy dancing alongside the company's own, with Étoile Nicoletta Manni and Primo Ballerino Timofej Andrijashenko. The program runs from Forsythe to Maillot to Shahar Binyamini's Bolero X — a conversation between generations of dancers, which is rather the point. Every ticket sold supports the Foundation's work with children.
